1. Mission Beach
Mission Beach is a community built on a sandbar between the Pacific Ocean and Mission Bay.
Activities

activities.
Nightlife
Mission Beach has many well-known bars. Most bars in the
neighborhood are relaxed, beach-style gathering places.
2. Pacific Beach
Pacific Beach (PB) is the most popular beach among adults in San Diego where they can enjoy the sun during the day and also party the whole night(families usually prefer other beaches like La Jolla Shores)
Activities
A sidewalk, the boardwalk, running along the beach, is typically crowded with pedestrians, cyclists, rollerbladers, and shoppers.

Geography
Pacific Beach is a neighborhood of San Diego, bounded by La Jolla to the north, Mission Beach and Mission Bay to the south.
3. Black's Beach
Black's Beach in San Diego is perhaps
the largest nude beach in the United States and is
popular with many Southern Californian nudists and naturists.
Because Black's Beach was traditionally recognized as a clothing
optional beach, nudity is tolerated for the portion of the beach
that is managed by the state park.
Surfing:
The southern portion of
Black's Beach is known to surfers as one of the most powerful
surf breaks in Southern California.
4. La Jolla Shores
With beautiful nature, calm beach and a small park, La Jolla Shore is a perfect spot for kids, families and those who want to picnic or relax by the beach.In summer, waves at this beach are usually the most gentle of all San Diego beaches, although rip currents may still be strong at times.
Surfing
Surfing is permitted in specified areas and waves tend to be relatively small.
Beach Fire
Containers for beach fires are generally provided during summer months and available on a first come, first served basis.
Seals
Visitors can watch the seals and sea lions that play in and around the shore or at Seal Rock, their offshore reserve.
5. Powerhouse Park
Powerhouse park is the stretch of coastal Del Mar between 15th and 18th Streets along Coast Blvd where families, visitor, artists and outdoor enthusiasts gather to enjoy life. The beautifully maintained open park area and beach is one of the most scenic places in San Diego.The Powerhouse itself is a historic landmark and is now a award-winning community center that is available for public and private events.
Surfing
The surf here is also great for beginners and longtime surfers alike. In the summer this place is rockin' with camps, Jr. Lifeguard Trainings, events, concerts and gatherings.
6. Windansea Beach
Windansea Beach is a beautiful, rock-strewn beach famous for
its surf break, hard-breaking waves right at the shoreline. It's
also a great place to go whale-watching during their migrations
to and from Mexico.
In 1940s Windansea surfers built a Polynesian-style, sideless
hut on the beach. Legend says it was nicknamed "Sugar Shack" for
romantic encounters that happened there, despite its lack of
privacy.
Creature Comforts at Windansea Beach:
No restrooms in the area
Lifeguard on duty daily in summer, and on weekends spring and
fall.
Alcohol is permitted on the beach from 12:00 noon to 8:00
p.m. only, but not in the parking lot, on the walkway or grassy
area.
Pets allowed only between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m., and they
must be on a leash.
Windansea Beach Activities:
Surfing. The surf breaks are very close together and can get
quite crowded. Novice surfers may be better off at La Jolla
Shores.
Swimming. Enter and exit the water carefully to prevent
injuries on the rocks.
Scuba diving IS NOT recommended because of the surf break.
