1. Old Town
Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, located in the Old Town neighborhood of San Diego, is a state protected historical park.
Activities
Five original adobes are part of the complex, which includes shops, restaurants and museums. Other historic buildings include a schoolhouse, a blacksmith shop, San Diego's first newspaper office, a cigar and pipe store, houses and gardens, and a stable with a carriage collection. There are also stores, with local artisans demonstrating their craft.

3. Balboa Park

The San Diego Museum of Art
As the region's oldest and largest art museum, The San Diego Museum of Art's renowned holdings include a fine selection of European old masters, 19th and 20th century American art, an encyclopedic Asian collection, and growing collections of contemporary and Latin American art. In addition, the museum presents major art exhibitions from around the world, as well as an extensive schedule of supporting cultural and educational programs.
San Diego Air & Space Museum
Science, space and aviation history all unfold at the San Diego Air & Space Museum—California’s Official Air and Space Museum. An affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution, the Museum houses a collection of historic aircraft and spacecraft from all over the world, including a working flying replica of Lindbergh's Spirit of St. Louis, the actual Apollo 9 Command Module spacecraft and the only real GPS satellite on display in the world. The Museum also offers interactive exhibits including MaxFlight® and Space Shuttle simulators plus dynamic, hands-on and ever-changing traveling exhibitions.
San Diego Natural History Museum
Founded by a handful of citizen-naturalists in 1874, the museum is an active research institution and is the second oldest scientific institution in Southern California. The museum is dedicated to interpreting the natural world through research and education, offering local and international exhibitions and promoting understanding of the evolution and diversity of the Southern California-Baja California region. The museum also features giant-screen films and offers a wide selection of public programs for people of all ages.
4. San Diego Zoo
The San Diego Zoo is one of the largest and most progressive zoos in the world, withover 4,000 rare animals of more than 800 species, including giant pandas, orangutans, gorillas, tigers, polar bears, hippos, and koalas, the lively atmosphere makes the San Diego Zoo a great place for family fun.

5. Powerhouse Park
Powerhouse park is the stretch of coastal Del Mar between 15th and 18th Streets along Coast Blvd where families, visitor, artists and outdoor enthusiasts gather to enjoy life. The beautifully maintained open park area and beach is one of the most scenic places in San Diego.The Powerhouse itself is a historic landmark and is now a award-winning community center that is available for public and private events.
Surfing
The surf here is also great for beginners and longtime surfers alike. In the summer this place is rockin' with camps, Jr. Lifeguard Trainings, events, concerts and gatherings.
6. Legoland California
Legoland California is located in Carlsbad, in North San Diego County. The park opened March 20, 1999, and is split into nine sections which are The Beginning, Dino Island, Explore Village, Fun Town, Knight's Kingdom, Miniland USA, Imagination Zone, Pirate Shores, and Land of Adventure.
Water Park
Beginning May 28, LEGOLAND® California Resort will feature the world’s first and only LEGOLAND Water Park. The imagination will really flow at this interactive, splash-filled, fun time for the entire family.
The Water Park will have four-person raft slides, single-person tube slides, body slides, a lazy river and hands-on toddler areas so there’s something for everyone.
LEGO Clutch Powers 4D
When there’s a job to be done, or an adventure to be had, you can bet that Clutch Powers will be there. Follow Clutch and his team in this edge of your seat 4-D action-packed show!
A brand new LEGO character, Clutch Powers is the best builder and explorer in the LEGO universe! Clutch and his team head out on a mission where they are forced to battle with an evil Rock Monster. The movie features amazing 3-D effects combined with wind, water and snow for an action packed and fun 4-D adventure.
7. San Diego Wild Animal Park
San Diego Wild Animal Park is not a typical zoo experience. It is one of the must go attractions of San Diego and houses a large array of wild and endangered animals in their natural habitats, including species from the continents Africa, Asia, Europe, North and South America, and Australia. A family friendly adventure, ride a safari or tour-guided caravan and experience a close-up encounter, or live the excitement of an overnight excursion.The Wild Animal Park is an expansive wildlife sanctuary that is home to more than 3,500 animals representing more than 400 species. Its renowned botanical collection represents 3,500 species and 1.5 million specimens. Over half of the Park’s 1,800 acres (730 hectares) have been set aside as protected native species habitat.
Photo Caravan
Ride into the Park's open field exhibits in a flatbed truck, and get a chance to feed giraffes or rhinos while capturing safari style photos of wildlife in a natural setting.
